Organ Donation Law is Changing. Pass It On.
Have you seen the new organ donation advert on TV? NHS Blood and Transplant have produced this advert to make the public aware of the new opt-out law.
From spring 2020 in England and autumn 2020 in Scotland, all adults will be considered as having agreed to donate their own organs when they die unless they record a decision not to donate or are in one of the excluded groups. This system was introduced in Wales in 2015.
In the lead up to the change in law, NHS Blood and Transplant is urging families across England to talk about their organ donation decision, with the campaign message ‘Pass it on’.
Did you know PSC is one of the leading causes of liver transplant in the UK?
PSC Support welcomes the new opt-out system and, as always, urge everyone to talk to their family and friends about their organ donation wishes.
