Research Begins to Look at IBD Care After Transplant
First nationwide audit of IBD care delivery following liver transplantation for PSC.
Dr Palak Trivedi has been awarded a grant by Dr. Falk Pharma and the Core Charity to fund his study: Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Care Delivery Following Liver Transplantation for Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis (PSC).
The study will be the first nationwide audit of IBD care delivery in the transplanted PSC population and aims to provide an evidence-based framework which could be used to improve therapeutic decision-making in this difficult-to-treat group of patients.
PSC Support is delighted to be working closely with Dr Trivedi on this project. Dr Trivedi is passionate in his quest to improve the lives of people with PSC, and puts patients firmly at the heart of his research projects. This research is no exception, and patients will be involved in every stage of the study. The first stage is to ensure that a series of questions for people who have had a transplant for PSC are appropriate and clear. A panel of patients was formed by PSC Support who helped Dr Trivedi develop the questions during Summer 2018.
