Bile Acid Pathways in PSC-IBD
Are the mechanisms that drive inflammation in the bowel in people with PSC different to that seen in people with UC alone?
Dr Nabil Quraishi from the University fo Birmingham, UK, recently published research looking at this question. His findings suggest that in PSC, the balance of bile acids is compromised and may be a result of changes within gut bacteria in the colon.
