Meet Our Chief Executive

Building a better future for us all:  Paula Hanford, our new CEO

Paula Hanford

Since its beginning in 1995, PSC Support has grown into a trusted provider of support, information, advocacy and research funding, primarily through the work of volunteers who have dedicated their own time to help others with PSC and their families.

To ensure our organisation is resilient, and that our vital work can continue, we have appointed a full time employed Chief Executive to lead the day-to-day running of our charity and deliver on the strategic goals set by our Board of Trustees.

Martine Walmsley, Chair of Trustees, said, “We’re delighted to announce that Paula Hanford, joins us as Chief Executive from the National Youth Advocacy Service (NYAS), where she was Head of Income Generation and Fundraising. We’re keen to build PSC Support’s capabilities and diversify our income: moving from being completely reliant on individual donations to securing funding grants to support more projects. This will enable us to better meet the needs of people with PSC and direct individual donations straight to our own PSC research grant programme. Paula’s values, drive, experience and skills will be instrumental in taking PSC Support and its work to the next level.”

Commenting about her appointment, Paula said, "I am delighted to join PSC Support as its first Chief Executive.  People with PSC urgently need curative treatments and ways to improve their quality of life.  Building on the excellent work that has already been done, I look forward to taking the charity to the next level in supporting people living with PSC.”

PSC Support is the only UK-based charity dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by PSC.
