Liyana's Loom Bands
10-Year-Old Changemaker Shines a Light on PSC
We are incredibly grateful to Liyana, who has spent countless hours making and selling loom bands to raise awareness and vital funds for PSC Support — reaching a fantastic £159.45 in the process!
Her proud mum kindly shared their story with the PSC community.

There's Hope in the Younger Generation
Being a parent is hard… being an ill, single mother is even harder.
I’m a nearly 35-year-old single mum living with PSC, AIH, and sarcoidosis. My one and only daughter, Liyana, is 10 years old — and truly one of a kind.
Liyana dreams of becoming a liver doctor one day, with the hope of finding a cure for PSC. (Watch this space!)
I carry a lot of guilt knowing that Liyana has had to grow up watching me get progressively sicker. That guilt has only deepened now, as I wait for a liver transplant — 9 months on the list, with four false calls so far.
Heartbreakingly Proud
These days, instead of me checking on her while she sleeps, she checks on me. Sometimes, she even checks my pulse — scared that I might not be breathing.
As heartbreaking as that is, she inspires me every single day to keep going and keep fighting. The hope in her face has the power to erase every worry in mine.
She’s so incredible that my illness has inspired her to take action.
She’s been busy making and selling loom bands (PSC Support–inspired, of course), giving talks about the liver, and even sharing her own story to help raise awareness.
And now, I can proudly announce that she’s raised £159.45 for PSC Support!
Well done Liyana! We are all so proud of you!
With love,
A very happy and proud mum who just had to brag
