We’re very excited to announce the return of PSC Support's 20K Your Way Challenge! This fantastic challenge is a simple way to bring the PSC community together and raise vital funds for PSC Support while also encouraging each other to get outside, do a little bit of exercise or get creative. We hope this challenge will build an even stronger sense of community while raising awareness of PSC, proving that together we are stronger.
"Hey everyone, I’m Carol! A lot of you may remember me from our PSC Information Day in Birmingham last year or our 20K Your Way 2024 fundraiser.
Let me introduce myself and tell you a bit about how the fundraiser came about. I’ve been living with PSC for 19 years, and throughout that time, PSC Support has been such an amazing source of help and encouragement. I always said one day I would give back and since I started, I’ve found doing proactive things for the charity helps me have a more positive mindset, which is crucial for overcoming the tough times PSC can throw at you.
I came up with the idea of the fundraiser after raising money for PSC Support when I ran the Manchester Marathon in 2022. I wanted to find another way of raising vital funds. It wasn’t just about raising money though, I wanted to find something that we all could participate in, bringing our wonderful community even closer together and offering us a positive focus to bring smiles to our faces. And this is how our 20K Your Way challenge was born.
Last year’s response was incredible. With over 70 of us taking part, we raised an amazing £22,000! It still makes me smile thinking about it. So, this year, we’re back - with a few fun twists to make it even easier for everyone to get involved in their own creative way.
Let’s make this year even bigger and better! The more of us who join in, the more fun we’ll have and the more we will get from it. Believe me, the buzz from being part of something like this is amazing.
Come and join us! Let’s make it happen and show the world that together, we really are stronger."
