Halloween Fundraising Ideas
Help us continue our work with these easy to organise and accessible ideas for supporters of all ages
We are the only UK charity dedicated to helping those affected by PSC. As a small charity, every penny raised makes a huge difference. This Halloween, you can have fun and raise vital funds with these some simple and spooky ideas!
Guess the Halloween Sweets
Fill a jar with Halloween-themed sweets and challenge people to guess the number. Charge a small fee per guess, and the closest answer wins the jar! This can be done at work, school, or online via social media. You can even replace sweets with other spooky items like plastic spiders for extra fun.
Host a Halloween Quiz
Gather friends or coworkers for a Halloween-themed quiz night. Include rounds on horror trivia, Halloween movie soundtracks, or even a "guess the actor" round. You can host the event at home, at work, at a local pub, or online, making it an easy and versatile fundraiser.
Spooky Movie Night
Invite friends for a Halloween movie marathon and ask for donations. Choose age-appropriate films if kids are joining, like The Addams Family or Hotel Transylvania. Schools or community centres can host public screenings (do they need a licence?) and raise extra funds by selling popcorn and snacks.
NOTE: To show a film outside of the home, you will need to obtain permission from the copyright owners in the form of a licence, whether or not you are showing to a paying audience. For guidance about showing films in public go to this gov.uk page or for information specifically for schools visit pta.co.uk.
Halloween Bake Sale
Create or buy spooky treats like pumpkin-themed cupcakes or spider-web cakes, then sell them at work, school, or to friends. You could even design themed bunting or cake toppers for fundraisers to download and print, adding a special touch to the sale.
Fancy Dress Day
Organise a fancy dress day at your school or office. Ask participants to make a donation in exchange for wearing their best Halloween costumes, and award a prize for the most creative outfit.
Pumpkin Carving Contest
Host an in-person or online pumpkin carving competition. Charge a small fee to enter, and let participants showcase their creations for judging. You can either decide the winner yourself or let friends and family vote online, with the photo receiving the most likes winning the prize.
Gain an Hour, Give an Hour
Perhaps one of the easiest autumnal fundraising ideas. As the clocks go back an hour, at 2am on 27 October, consider giving an hour’s salary to PSC Support. Encourage your friends and colleagues to do the same and make this Halloween one to howl about.
How can your fundraising help?
- £ 20 Could fund an hour of our Helpline which provides much needed support
- £ 30 - Could help pay for updates to our clear, easy to understand information about PSC
- £ 50 - Could fund an hour for a senior researcher to look into new PSC biomarkers for early diagnosis
How can you pay in funds?
If you’ve set up an online fundraising page like Enthuse or JustGiving, we’ll automatically get the money. If you’ve collected cash donations, see how you can pay your donations in here. And be sure to tell us about your fundraising using this form or emailing fundraising@pscsupport.org.uk so we can give you the support you need to make it a success.
